If you were asked to knit a cardigan with an image of your favourite horse on the front, it would probably turn out as a donkey if you did not follow a pattern. The lists of those ‘transported’ to Virginia seem at first glance as haphazard at best, but, if you can identify the familial and commercial patterns within, often the same thing, then you are able to see the horse from the donkey. What follows is an extract from the ‘transportation’ list, which, I believe, identifies the patterns of relationships identified in my last post; thus, should be read in conjunction with it.
