Articles of Agreement (1) Sampson Eure of Grayes Inn, Middlesex, esq. (2) Francis Walker of Cleobury Mortimer, co., Salop. gent. Recites: Robert, Earl of Lyndsey, Lord Great Chamberlain of England and others have leased to Francis Walker all the ironworks etc. in Bringewood Chase for 21 years. 30 December 1637. (Heref. George Blount’s sister, Dorothy Lacon (née Blount), married Sir William Leighton of Plash (or Plaish Hall, Shropshire); the great-grandson of the Sir Thomas Leighton (c. 1452–1519) who had the long-term mistress Ann Baker; their daughter, Margaret, m. John Harris, and they were the ancestors of Mary Harris Ligon, b. 1625 in Ludlow, and her brother, Major William Harris, b. there in 1627/8.

Richard Walker had issue by his wife, Mary (née Herbert), Martha, bap. at Onibury, 18 July, 1652, Richard, bap. 30 Oct., 1653, d.s.p. Margaret, bap. 14 Septus 1654, Anne, interred 16 Jan., 1671, and Job, bap. 25 Dec., 1656. Job Walker was of Stildon, in the parish of Rock, near Bewdley, but afterwards was of Ferney Hall, and was interred at Onibury, 15 Nov, 1713, having married Rebecca, daughter and co-heir of Thomas, second Lord Folliott, 23 Aug., 1683, at Dowles, near Bowdley; she was also buried at Onibury, 3rd April, 1726. By this match many relics of the Folliotts came to the Walkers, and are still preserved among their descendants”.

Mary Wakeman, dau. of William Wakeman, of Glouc. 1.1.2.1. William Baugh, of Virginia, received a grant of 577 ac. for the transportation of 12 persons, including his son, William Baugh, Jr., on the N. side of the Appomattox River. William Baugh held land next to Major William Harris, on ‘Ware Run’. The specific location of ‘Ware Run’ is give in Richard Womack’s grant: ‘Now know yee that I ye sd Sir Will Berkeley knt. give and graunt unto Richard Womack foure hundred and fivety acres, three rood eight po: of land on ye North side of Appomatock River in Henrico Co. extending as followeth beginning at a small branch of ye Ashen Swampe … No: by We: 34 po: No: We: 60 po: to Mr. Baugh his line neigh ye Round Slash No: No: We: 15 po: to Major Harris his cornor”. WALKERS AND HOLLANDS OF GOOCHLAND

1.2.2.2.1.2.1. John Walker. (b. ca. 1700), neighbour of Michael Holland on Byrd Creek. John Walker’s Will (dated 30 April 1740, proved 18 November 1740, in Goochland County Deed & Will Book 3, page 365), leaves his 400-acre plantation on the branches of Lickinghole Creek to his “father John Walker,” leaves 400 acres on the Byrd to his “brother James Walker,” leaves enslaved individuals to his “brother Joseph Walker,” and leaves a 400-acre patent on Little Byrd Creek to his “brother David Walker.” He named Joseph and David as his executors.
1.2 2.2.1.2.1.1. James Walker (b. ca. 1700), co-speculator with Michael Holland in the 1738 Brunswick 10,000-acre land patent, m. Susannah Chiles. In 1738, the Council of Virginia granted 10,000 acres in Brunswick County (in an area that later became Campbell County), jointly to Michael Holland, James Walker, and Henry Chiles. In March 1749, Francis Coley sold land on Little Byrd Creek to Joseph Walker (brother of David Walker), the tract was described as being bounded by James Howard, Michael Holland, and John Walker. James Walker and Susannah Chiles had issue, Mary Walker, who m. Hezekiah Holland in February 1765 in Goochland County (St. James Northam Parish). On July 4, 1763, the executors of Michael Holland’s estate sold 587 acres of land in Henrico County, which adjoined the land of John Lancaster, whose son, Nathaniel Lancaster, married Hope Walker, dau. of David Walker*.
