John Earle was almost certainly of Winscombe, Somerset; situated between Wiveliscombe and Bristol.
George Knott was the father of (1) a namesake, who m. Ruth Bland (almost certainly of the family interm. with the Bennetts; (2) William Knott. William Rose and his wife, Ann, were among the headrights of William Knott when he claimed 200 ac. in Surry Co. in March, 1653.
