1.1.1.1.1. William Williams (1570-1612) of Herringston, m. Ann, dau. of Sir William Peryam (1534-1604), by his 2nd wife, Anne Parker, dau. of John Parker, of North Molton, Devon, and Elizabeth Frye, dau of John Frye, of Yerty, Devon.

1.1.1.1.2. George Williams, executor of his father’s Will, of Herringston and Glansville Wootton, in Dorset. He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford, on June 18, 1602, aged 14. He m. Mary, dau. of William Carant,* of Toomer, Somerset. (“The family of Carent is of great antiquity, being descended from Owen de Caerwent, who possessed the manor of Caerwent near Chepstow, in Monmouthshire. Sir William Carent, K.B. was sheriff of this county (Somerset) and Dorset, 14 Henry VIII., 1523, resided at Toomer park, and died, 35 Elizabeth, 1593, leaving a son *William, who succeeded his father, and was resident also at Toomer Court”, Modern Somersetshire, p. 305, 1839).
1.1.1.1.2.1. John Williams, son and heir, b. 1618; headright of Robert Pitt. Robert Pitt’s son, John, was the bondsman for the estate of John Williams; his Will being proved May 2, 1687.
1.1.1.1.2.2.1. John Williams, m. Anne Moore, dau. of William Moore, who m. Sarah Rogers, in IOW, dau. of Edward Rogers, d. 1638, and Margaret Grey. His Will was recorded May 1, 1708, appraised by Peter Deberry, who m. Mary, dau. of Edward Brantley, security for the Will of Thomas Harris, d. 1672.
1.1.1.2.2. George Williams, bapt. ca. 1625. It is not improbable that this George Williams, was he who m. a dau. of Daniel Boucher, of Bristol, merchant, and was noted in Virginia. He would have been of comparable social standing to his father-in-law. The estate of another dau. of Daniel Boucher was appraised by John Hardy (husband of Alice Bennett, kinswoman of Thomas Harris, d. 1672), whose dau. m. Col. John Pitt, son of the said Robert Pitt.

June 13, 1612, in St Mary’s, Beaminster, Dorset. George Trevelyan was the son of John Trevelyan and Margaret, dau. of George Lutterell, of Dunster.

Although an account of a Williams family may only seem pertinent to those of that name, this is a serious misconception; for, it is only possible to trace most familes of early Virginia through their kinsfolk, and their continuation of English associations  in Virginia.
