There is not any evidence that Thomas Harris, d. 1672, married a dau. of Nicholas George. Connections betw. these two families seem tangential (less so to the family of John George).

He m. Elizabeth, widow of Capt. Francis Slaughter, dau. of Margaret Lucas, formerly Upton. Thomas Harris of Chippoakes, d. 1672, and wife Eleanor sold land to Christopher Benn that he had purchased fom William Batte and Margaret Upton, Feb. 31, 1657. Jan. 9, 1678, bequests to grandchildren John and Joyce Lewis; kinswoman Mary Baugh; names friends James Powell and Thomas Taberer; witness George Branch; proved by Robert Pardoe and Edward Bechinoe;* the appraisal of estate was made by John Brantley, Thomas Hardy, George Riddick, and George Barlow, p. 72. *George Branch had m. Ann, the dau. of Captain Francis England by 1666, and four Branch grandsons and wife Joyce were named in the 1677 Will of Capt. England. Wife Joyce, the dau. of Robert Flake (a tobacco factor for Bristol merchants), had m. George Cripps, in 1679. Robert Flake provided security for the estate of John Jennings, whose wife Mary had already m. Thomas Allen. In May 1679, George Branch (step grandson of Mr. Flake) was among those ordered to appraise the estate of Richard Corsey,* which had been settled in Sept. 1679 by Thomas Allen.
(John George was probably “John George, Chirurgeon”, who brought hogsheads of sugar from Barbados for Mr. John Brent. (Bristol Depositions, vol. 13, p. 39). A George Purdue was a partner of Thomas Blacklock, involved in the Bristol/Wexford trade, as mentioned in a deposition by Charles Thompson of London, Merchant, of July 1651. (ibid., p. 67).

May I, 1679, witnessed by Thomas Moore, who named son-in-law William Seward, grandson of John Seward, the Bristol sea captain and merchant, whose headright was Edward Brantley. Land on either side of Seward’s Creek was held by Thomas Harris, d. 1672, and his namesake, d. 1688. John Goodrick appraised the Will of the said Richard Corsey. Ann England, dau. of Francis England, having issue: (1) Francis, who m. Elizabeth Norwood, dau. of William Norwood, aforesaid, (2) George, who m. Susan, dau. of William Corker, sister of Lucy Rose, of whose children Bartholomew Owen was a benefactor. The mother of Thomas Harris, born in Cheddar, in 1637 (who I suggest was Thomas harris, d. 1688), was highly likely a Kirton. Robert Wasborowe was related to Robert Vickris, Master of the Bristol Merchant Adventurers, who resided in chew Magna, Somerset. His Will, dated Nov. 6, 1684, named John Moore, draper, and William Browne, merchant, as executors, son-in-law Samuel Davis, his children Samuel and Hester Davis; sister Thompson, cousin Mary Wasborowe, widow. Witnessed by Francis and Richard Yemans.

May 27, 1728 … ‘sister Cherry one guinea’ … … ‘brother Mathew one guinea’. They were children of Thomas Joyner, Will rec. April 28, 1740: ‘I give and bequeath unto my dau. Cherry Harris … one chest and one feather Bed and furniture which she has in her possession already … I give unto my son Mathew Joyner … the plantation whereon I now live with 240 ac. thereunto belonging, one pair of English hand millstones, one iron pott, and one gun’.
