In the following notes I have redacted information recorded in a family bible, the first entry in which commences in 1687. The family possessing the bible have no material interest in the early entries, which, by female succession, lead to their family.
I can only make sense of the bible entries by suggesting the following construct, in which *** = redacted. There follows deliberate repetition.

He was overseer of the Will of William Ridley, who was probably the br. of Elizabeth Ridley, Charles Barham’s wife.
Thomas Harris was also the nephew of Edward Bennett. Christopher Reynolds Sr. emigrated to Virginia as an indentured servant of Mr. Edward Bennett. B. 1, pp. 46-8, “Imprimis: I give and bequeath unto my son Christopher Reynolds Jr. all my land on the southerly side of the Freshest swamp that Richard Jordan (his son-in-law who m. da. Elizabeth Reynolds) now liveth upon”.

xvi. Charles Judkins was the uncle of William Judkins, who m. Margaret Taylor, da. of Edward Taylor, who m. 2. Bartlett Moreland; 3. William Harris. (Probable son of *** ***).

xxi. Matthew Tomlin and Thomas Harris (d. 1688) held land in lower par. IOW Co. on borders of Blackwater to the bottom of Pig Neck (B 7, p. 510), which had been granted to Mr. John Seward, on April 16, 1648.
xxii. John Seward also patented land in 1638 “upon Warresquioke River”, against the land of Nathaniell Floyd, whose widow m. Francis Hobbs, whose da. m. John Harris, son of Thomas Harris, d. 1672.
xxiii. Edward Brantley was a headright of John Seward.

xxiv. James Piland, bapt. on August 30, 1604, in St Mary’s Le Porte, Bristol, headright of Francis England, in 1642, married the widow of Thomas Greenwood. She next married Thomas Edwards, who claimed Greenwood’s land, and sold 150 acres of it to John Jennings (overseer of the Will of Thomas Harris, d. 1672).
xxv. James Piland was the grandfather of James Piland (Godson of John Williams Sr.), and George Piland.
xxvi. George Piland and Michael Harris witnessed the Will of William Clements (B. 7, p. 854); grandfather of Elizabeth Boykin.
xxvii. On 28 April 1720, James Piland Jr., Benjamin Hodges, and Roger Ingram witnessed the will of Robert Lancaster, whose son, Thomas, m. Elizabeth Harris.

li. William Harrison Jr. was the husband of Mary Hodges (da. of Ellis Hodges), who sold 25 ac. on a creek off Pagan Creek, to her br., John Hodges, who sold it to Edward Goodrich, on April 9, 1755.
