Richard I., surnamed fearless, Duke of Normandy, who died at Eu in the year 996. His son Richard II and Lesceline his wife, founded the collegiate church of Eu. Robert Count of Eu, their son, commanded the right wing of the army of William the Conqueror at Hastings. He died in 1080, and was buried in the Benedictine Abbey of Tréport, which he had founded. William, his son, succeeded him, and conspired against William Rufus, and was thrown into prison, where his eyes were punctured.

(1) Pierrepont, Londinières, Neufchâtelen-Bray (Seine-Inférieure). Hugues de Pierrepont, witnessed an act of donation for Henry I., in favour of the priory of Saint-Martin-du-Bosc. (Cart. fol. 16-18).
(2) Floques, Eu, Dieppe (Seine-Inférieure). In 1107, Henry I. confirmed a donation of a mansionum to the church of Saint-Michel du Tréport. Hugues de Floques appears as a witness.
(3) Saint-Martin-le-Gaillard, Eu, Dieppe (Seine-Inférieure). The name is recorded in 1036 in the Neustria pia, p.589.
(4) Perduville, Saint-Saens, Neufchâtel-en-Bray (Seine-Inférieure). Associated with Hugonis de Perottavilla.
(5) Villaines, Eu, Dieppe (Seine Inférieure). When Abraham became a monk at the Abbey of Tréport he gave to the monks of the tithe of Blanque (de Blanca). (Neustria pia, p. 695).

(1) Grandcourt, Londinières, Neufchâtelen-Bray (Seine-Inférieure). William de Grandcourt was the second son of William Count d’Eu (as above, who had his eyes punctured). He married Hermentrude, daughter of Richard, Viscount of Avranches, and sister of Hugh of Chester. (Orderic Vital, liv XII).
(2) Deville-en-Caux, Londinières, district of Neufchâtel-en-Bray (Seine-Inférieure). As early as the year 1036, Gautier of Davidisvilla appears as a witness in the charters of Robert I, Count of Eu. Neustria pia, p. 588. This Gautier was one of the great benefactors of the Abbey of Treport. A charter of the year 1107 of Henry I, count of Eu, contains the confirmation of the gift which precedes nine others at the abbey of Saint-Michel du Tréport.
(3) Incheville, Eu, Dieppe (Seine-Inférieure). In the year 1107, Henri, count of Eu, confirms the donations made to the monks of Tréport by Hugo de Hainsivillâ. In 1106, according to the titles of Saint-Martin-du-Bosc, the same Hugues had given to this priory the church of Hainsivilla. “Cum patronatu”.
(4) Dongon. This is probably a fief in Tocqueville-du-Grand-Caux (canton of Bacqueville, Dieppe, Seine-Inférieure), but it does not appear to have been part of the domain of Eu. Cécile, daughter of Guillaume de Dongon, married Gui de Bouvincourt. Another daughter married Guillaume de Pierrecourt, who gave the monastery of Foucarmont half of Bois Hubert. (Archives, Seine-Inferieure). Jean de Dongon, Chevalier, Seigneur d’Hierre, fl. 1228, i.e. Jean du Donjon ou de Dongon. Patent Rolls of the Reign of Henry III.: 1247-1258; Grant to Ralph de Dongon, for his long service to the king and Edward the king’s son, of 40 marks a year at the Exchequer.
(5) Assigny, Envermeu, Dieppe (Seine Inférieure). A Milon d’Assigny, who was probably the ancestor of Robert, gave to the monks of the Tréport, duos ortos and duas garbas decimo de 1scenni. (Charter of Robert, Count of Eu. Neustria pia, p. 585).
(6) Cuverville- sur-Yère, Eu, Dieppe (Seine-Inférieure). Henricus of Culvertivilla witnessed a charter of John, count of Eu, in favour of the monks of Foucarmont. In the cartulary of Saint-Michel du Tréport, “Goffredus pater Oslardi of Culvertivilla”, also appears.
(7) Bailleul-sur-Eaulne, Londinières, Neufchâtel-en-Bray (Seine-Inférieure). We find, p. 589, Neustria pia, the name of Geoffroy de Bailleul, as present at the subscription of an act of Robert, Count of Eu, in 1036.
(8) Bouvaincourt, Gamaches, Abbeville (Somme). The cartulaire du prieuré de Saint-Martin-du-Bosc, f° 24, v. 8, contains a charter of Gui de Bovencurt.
